The Future of Reuse

Visual Identity
Branding
Design System

A solution to creating a circular-economy, captured by design.

Go Unpackaged has developed a reusable packaging idea that is commercially and environmentally viable. To launch this scalable concept they needed a brand identity that would stand out and get noticed in the retail sector.

After exploring various colour palettes, a combination of greens was chosen to enforce the environmental nature of their brand. The bright yellow accent is applied in their identity to represent the Go Unpackaged solution, which will contribute to closing the reuse-recycle gap and result in a successful, zero-waste circular-economy.

To accommodate the long brand name we created a stacked logo with the word "GO" designed to function as a stand alone brand icon. The two rounded letters link to become an incomplete infinity sign, with the yellow dot "closing the gap".

This visual idea was extended to create a flexible icon library. The angular, blocky line style of the icons aligns with the logo, and each icon includes a single yellow accent dot. The icons are  used to visually support communications in their presentation and editorial content, as well as digital channels.

A linear illustration style was developed that has the aesthetic feel of technical drawings. The illustrations are used as functional product and instructional drawings, and also incorporated as a decorative element.

The strongly recognisable branding was applied to a series of social media marketing templates for the brand launch campaign, and used to design an elegant report template for publishing research and findings. The extended visual identity was consolidated in a user-friendly, annotated brand guidelines document. This resource was used by their web-designer to set up their website.

"Koki was the perfect design partner to help us relaunch the GoUnpackaged brand. Karen listened to what we were trying to achieve and created a suite of design assets to help us manage our business going forward. The collaborative approach and expert advice were just what we needed to navigate the design process. We'd very much recommend Koki to anyone looking for great design."
